Position Overview:
HandinHand Counseling Services is seeking a dedicated, compassionate and experienced Licensed EMDR Therapist to join our team. The EMDR Therapist will be responsible for providing specific, specialized trauma therapy to individuals who have experienced various forms of trauma. The ideal clinician will have a specialization in EMDR and/or CPT, IFS, DNMS, Brainspotting or TF-CBT, a strong foundation in mental health principles, an understanding of trauma and its impact, and a commitment to supporting clients through their healing journey.
This role involves conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and delivering evidence-based therapeutic interventions to support the healing and recovery of clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Previous experience in a mental health setting, particularly with trauma-affected populations.
- Performs in-person (with possible telehealth) evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and preferably one of the following: Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Internal Family Systems(IFS), Developmental Needs Meeting Strategy(DNMS) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to clients of HandinHand, as scheduled, and in accordance with company policies.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify the impact of trauma on clients.
- Develop, implement, monitor and adjust individualized treatment plans that address the specific needs of each client.
- Provide crisis intervention as needed and develop safety plans for clients at risk.
- Facilitate individual, group, and family therapy sessions as appropriate.
- Provide psychoeducation to clients, their families and peers on the impacts of various types of trauma
- Respond to patients’ requests for service or calls within 24 hours whether such requests are made in person, by phone, voicemail, etc. or through the HandinHand website.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records in compliance with legal and ethical standards. - Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems to maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with organizational policies and ethical standards.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, social workers, and case managers, to provide holistic care.
- Participate in case consultations, team meetings and supervision to discuss client progress and coordinate care.
- Stay current with research and best practices in trauma therapy through continuing education and professional development.
- Regular and reliable attendance and timely arrival to work is required.
- Be properly licensed and abide by all laws, rules, regulations, and codes of ethics that are binding upon or applicable to the services performed for HandinHand.
- Conduct and regulate counseling services in a professional manner so as to maintain and increase the reputation of HandinHand. Be respectful of and cooperative and collaborative with co-workers
- Other duties which may be assigned by HandinHand.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree or Doctoral Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field.
- Active, unrestricted license (PhD, PsyD, LCSW, LMFT, LPC or LSW) in the State of Pennsylvania. A copy must be provided to HandinHand Counseling Services.
- Specialized EMDR training and preferably one of the following: Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Internal Family Systems(IFS), Developmental Needs Meeting Strategy(DNMS) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working with trauma survivors utilizing specialized trauma treatment.
- Strong understanding of the impact of trauma on mental health and behavior.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Available to hold at least a minimum of 28 sessions per week, provided such sessions are available and referred/scheduled by HandinHand Counseling Services.
- Approved as an in-network provider on at least two HandinHand affiliated insurance panels.
Working Conditions:
- Office setting, with the potential for remote sessions via teletherapy.
- Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required to accommodate client needs.
Pay Range and Benefits:
$37- $52/ clinical hour
